Teleportation: The Quantum Around You




eleportation is usually been found only in science fiction books and movies. Now, thanks to the special properties of quantum entangled particles, it also takes place in the laboratory. We cannot yet teleport physical objects, but we can teleport the information encoded onto quantum particles. Doing so also allows us to send the information in a secure way, which can be used to protect it from eavesdroppers.
Associate Professor Andrea Morello is a researcher and lecturer in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW Australia in Sydney. He was one of the 2013 Australian Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science, the Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year.

Scientists using data from the Cassini spacecraft have discovered something unusual about the shadow cast on Saturn by its rings. Cassini was sent  crashing into Saturn  in September as its mission came to an end. However, in its final months, it dipped to between 2,600 and 4,000 kilometers (1,600 and 2,500 miles) above the planet to gather invaluable science. Research conducted by scientists in Sweden and the US, and published in  Science , looked at data from this period. HUBBLE JUST REVEALED THE WEIRDEST GALAXY EVER DISCOVERED-- "THE SNAKE GALAXY"

This weird yet amazing Cosmic Snake galaxy is actually behind a massive galaxy cluster called MACS J1206.2-0847, but thanks to the cluster’s gravity, we can see it directly from Earth. Light from the distant galaxy arrives at Earth, having been distorted by the gigantic gravitational influence of the intervening cluster. Fascinatingly, instead of making it more difficult to perceive cosmological objects, such strong lensing effects improve the resolution and depth of an image by magnifying the background object.
